    Legislative Update: September 1, 2017

    Congress returns from their August recess on Tuesday, September 4, with many issues on their to-do list before the end of the year. This includes:

    • Legislation to Prevent a Hard Therapy Cap on January 1, 2018
    • Reauthorization of National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which includes legislative language to include PTAs to provide services and be reimbursed under TRICARE
    • Reauthorization of Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) before October 1
    • Stabilizing Premiums in the Individual Insurance Health Care Market – A hearing will take place on Thursday, September 7 in the Senate HELP Committee with the following governors testifying:
      - Charlie Baker, Governor, State of Massachusetts
      - Steve Bullock, Governor, State of Montana
      - Bill Haslam, Governor, State of Tennessee
      - Gary Herbert, Governor, State of Utah
      - John W. Hickenlooper, Governor, State of Colorado
    • Passage of Legislation to Increase the Debt Ceiling
    • Passage of FY 2018 Appropriations Legislation or continuing resolutions (CRs) to keep the government funded after September 30
